Sidhu Moose Wala, a late Punjabi singer has been posthumously honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Iconic Award. This 29-year-old singer was celebrating fame, love, and international recognition, evident from their playlists that were buzzing all over the globe. This Punjabi singer had a huge following amongst Indians and those abroad with their songs such as So High, Same Beef, and more. Recently, their track 295 made it to The Billboard Global 200 Chart.

Sidhu Moosewala’s popularity has been on the rise since his track So High in 2018 and also made a name for himself. His PBX1 release jammed 66th on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart as well as ranking one of his singles on the UK singles chart.

Singer, Afsana Khan, shared a strong brother-sister relationship with Sidhu Moosewala. She received the award on behalf of Moosewala along with her husband, Saajz. It was a very emotional moment for both the audience and fans. The Titliaan singer also shared his own rendition of Moosewala’s famous song 295 followed by a signature ‘thaapi’ to commemorate Moosewala’s death. Sharing the video of the event, Afsana wrote, “Dada Saheb Phalke Iconic Award For Vadda Bai Sidhu Moosewala @sidhu_moosewala Legend never Die #justiceforsidhumoosewala”.

Even after so many months, Sidhu Moosewala his fans, and industry friends remember him and react in various ways to his late winner of the Dada Saheb Phalke Award. Some wrote, “I am just a big fan of Sidhu Moosewala from u.p….legend never dies always rules in our heart.” and “Congratulations to you veere we r proud of u #sidhu_moosewala #justice for sidhu_moosewala”.

A singer, Moosa was gunned down in his village with most of the shots being fired at his abdomen. This was due to gunfire from unknown gunmen and took place for around 10 minutes. There were around 30 rounds of bullets fired at Moosa before he died fifteen minutes after the attack. Moosa is now being cremated in his ancestral village while thousands mourn the loss of a musician.
