Justice for Sidhu Moose Wala Family Announces - Candle March - Punjabi Adda

To demand justice for Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moose Wala, a candle march is being organized on August 25 from Mansa to village Jawaharke, where he was killed on May 29 and which proved to be ‘The Last Ride’.

The Candle March will be starting from Lakshmi Narayan Temple, near old Anaaj Mandi of Mansa. An appeal has been made by the Moose Wala family that everyone who has stood with them through these tough times to join the Candle March. The family have asked all people to join together and ask for the injustice they are suffering through peaceful candlelight marches. All political parties, organizations, and individuals are invited but are asked not to stage any political speeches.

Balkaur Singh, the father of the slain Punjabi singer, took his fight to social media for what he calls “Justice for Sidhu Moose Wala”. On Tuesday, he opened a Twitter account and has been tweeting for almost two months since his son was brutally killed.

The handle is named “Sardar Balkaur Singh Sidhu/@iBalkaurSidhu”, he was followed by over 8,000 handles in hours after opening his account. His only following account is that of his son, Sidhu Moose Wala.

One of the first tweets Balkaur Singh posted was a candle march on August 25 at 4 pm. The march will be held in Mansa.

A few days ago, Balkaur announced a dharna to protest the government for not arresting the main culprits behind his son’s death.

He noted that the accused masterminds were still at large and the investigation was ongoing.

#JusticeForSidhuMooseWala has been trending on social media sites for a long time, but there hasn’t seemed to be much change. Balkaur is now using Twitter to raise awareness with his voice.

Sidhu Moose Wala was active on social media platforms, including Instagram, before he was killed by assailants on May 29.
