According to Kalki Krishnamurthy, part 2 of the cinematic multiverse is based on the same-titled 1954 novel. As for its storyline, it follows the adventures of principal Arulmozhi Varman and his family as they contend with powerful enemies of the Chola Dynasty. ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2‘ was released in cinemas on April 28, 2023. It is a sequel to ‘Ponniyen Selvan’ which was released in 2022 and received a lot of love from viewers.
